Exactly 100 days left.

Good lord that's scary. Seems like not a lot of time at all, and it's making me kind of nervous. I mean, what the heck do you do with a baby? I've never held a baby in my life. I'm terrified of screwing it up somehow.

*breathe*

I know it'll be fine, but it's scary as hell at the moment.

Is Sissy coming down for the birth and to help out for the first week or so? You'll be fine, and James will be fine, and Noah will aid you with Jim since he's had some experience with babies. For everything else, there's Google!

No, we're trying to have no visitors for the first couple of weeks just to give us some quiet-ish time to get established as just the three of us. I know we'll be fine, though. I am a master of Google. ;) And Noah keeps telling me babies are easy, so... Yeah. Just a bit of temporary anxiety.

Noah has limited experience with babies, he's better with toddlers and up, but he should be OK and he's held babies. You'll learn quick, but his diapers will probably fall off a few times because you put them on too loose and don't use a nose sucker!

Yeah, the whole thing is one big scary adventure, but you know what? Everyone survives.

I think being alone the first week or so will be good for you. It gives you time to bond as a family unit, and that's important.

Honestly, if you need anything during the first few weeks, you can call any time!

Yes, having a baby is scary. It's scary as heck! Everyday. And to be honest, WE ALL screw it up someday. As my family doctor says, we don't save for our kids college, we save money to pay for their future therapists. I'll never forget the time at Lycoming when I came home from class and my mom and cousin where there already to pick me up and they went to the bathroom and had put my baby cousin on your bed and you said to me, "Um, what do I do with the baby on the bed?" She was sleeping of course, but I still think of that when I think of you being mama! But it will all come together once you get into a routine of it. It gets harder as they get older, at least for me anyway. I'm sure you will do fine! We all have those moments. I still have them and Camielle is 2.5! You never really know what your getting in for with parenthood--I'm learning that now and I spent most of my life around babies and kids! The best advice I can give you is DON"T go by the book! My kids were hungry! They were both eating cereal at 6 and 8 weeks respectively and then jar fruits about two weeks after that mixed in with the cereal. If they are hungry, feed them, plus, they tend to sleep better when they are full and happy! I didn't care what the doctors and books say, after six weeks of Camielle being colicky and acid reflux, and my mom saying, "Just feed that baby already, she's hungry," I did. I'm so glad I did. So, if your baby is hungry, feed him, that's the best advice I can offer! You'll do fine! Oh, and take lots of pictures, you'll never regret having all those pictures! And if you ever want family photography, pick me, pick me, pick me!
